Day 1
Meeting with the guide at the hotel reception at 09:30 for a full-day tour to experience the timeless views of Istanbul’s historical sites: Hippodrome Square, Topkapi Palace, Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Blue Mosque), Hagia Sophia Mosque which carries the layered history of Byzantines, Romans and Ottomans, and the Grand Bazaar with its impressive local handicrafts and souvenirs. Overnight in Istanbul. FULL BOARD.
Day 2
Meeting with the guide at the hotel reception at 09:00. Visit the Spice Bazaar and enjoy a Bosphorus cruise between Europe and Asia with views of palaces, neighborhoods and bridges connecting the two continents. Visit Beylerbeyi Palace, Camlica Hill and the magnificent Suleymaniye Mosque on the Asian side. Transfer to Istanbul Airport for the flight to Kayseri or Nevsehir (Cappadocia). Arrival and overnight in a cave hotel in Cappadocia.
Day 3
Optional hot air balloon flight (05:00–08:00). Meeting with the guide at the hotel reception at 09:30. Visit Devrent Valley where rock formations resemble animals. Continue to Pasabag (Fairy Chimneys Valley). Walk through Avanos famous for pottery. After taking photos in Cavusin village continue to the Göreme Open Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985 with many rock-cut churches decorated with Byzantine frescoes. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 4
Meeting with the guide at the hotel reception at 09:30. Visit the underground city (Ozkonak or Kaymakli) where early Christians hid from their enemies. The viewpoint of Göreme offers one of the best views of Cappadocia. We will also see the panorama of Uchisar Fortress where camels can be seen. Visit a local carpet center where carpets are woven by hand. We will see Love Valley and discover volcanic stones used to make different objects and jewelry. At the end of the tour transfer to the hotel. Optional Turkish night show in a cave restaurant with local dancers from different regions of Turkey.
Day 5
Drive to Pamukkale (about 7 hours). Overnight in a thermal hotel with indoor pools. On the way it is possible to visit a well-preserved Seljuk caravanserai from the 13th century. Lunch on the route. Arrival in the evening. FULL BOARD.
Day 6
Meeting with the guide at the hotel reception at 09:30. Walk through the travertine terraces and the ancient city of Hierapolis. The terraces of Pamukkale are one of the most spectacular natural wonders in the world. The name Pamukkale means “Cotton Castle”, referring to its white and turquoise colors. During the excursion there is the opportunity to swim in the Ancient Roman Pool of Cleopatra (optional – bring a swimsuit). Flight from Denizli to Istanbul (about 1h15).
